Ever thought About It? This Is The Purpose Of The Small Pocket Of Your Jeans

Most trousers especially jeans have a small pocket, slightly above the normal front pocket. Many people don't know the actual purpose of this pocket. Some think it's a pocket to hide money while others think it's just there for fashion but the pocket have got another role, to which it was meant for.

Back in 1800,cowboys used to hang their watches with a chain from their waist line (in the belt position) and occasionally their watches were at risk of damage since they just hanged loosely. Levi came up with this pocket for the cow boys to put their watches there to protect them from breaking, and hence it became watch pocket.

In the early 19th century, with the coming of wrist watches, the watch pocket transformed to condom pocket. Men used to put condom inside the pocket. This saw the purpose of this pocket transform.

In the early 20th century, most people started preferring the pocket for putting coins to prevent loosing them. This have been the trend and it has changed the purpose to coins pocket. Up-to-date, most people prefer putting coins in this pocket since it's not easy to loose them while in there.

1. A Covid-19 patient who escaped from Imo state has been arrested in Ondo state. The members of Ondo state special task force on Covid-19 have arrested a Coronavirus patient that escaped from Imo state to come and stay at Akure, Ondo state. The patient was apprehended at the popular Ojo Oba Market in Akure on Saturday. The woman was caught where she was selling second hand clothes to people in the market. 2. Kenya is one of the countries that has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. All the learning institutions were closed down indefinitely by President Uhuru Kenyatta from the Primary Level to the University level as a way of controlling the spread of the virus.
